Palau
I made it Palau last night. The trip went very smoothly and I didn't
have any problems. My fellow clerk LB met me at the airport and took
me to my apartment. I'm happy with the apartment so far and I have
plenty of unpacking to do to get settled. The first 13 boxes made it
and are at the apartment. The boxes are beat up and unusable again,
but the stuff inside made it safely.
Right now I'm in the middle of doing all the introductory paperwork.
One of the clerks and a marshal has been taking me around town setting
up my life here. I've gone to the phone/internet company, immigration,
social security, bank, electric company, etc. I now have a Palauan
social security card. My last task of the day is to go to the Palau
DMV and get a driver's license, but first I have to take a written
test. That should be fun.
My internet time will be sporadic over the next few days and I don't
know how much will actually be posted, but I will have some internet
access in my apartment, so once that begins I'll be able to update
more frequently. Then I'll give you more of my first impressions of
Palau.

Glad you (and your boxes) made it safely! Can't wait for more updates.
Sad that the monkeys tried to eat your boxes....
