Farewell and Greetings

Friday was LB's family's last day in Palau. Dave has been busy making the final preparations and packing most of their stuff. It was a week full last times at PPR, at Kramer's, at Aussie Acres, and other places. After work on Friday, all four Kregenows came to frisbee and we had a great last time with them. Ryan made a few stellar catches and Noah caught the last point of the evening.

After frisbee, I joined the Kregenows and the Hannahs for dinner at Bandidos, Ryan and Noah's requested final meal. We reminisced a little, talked about their future, and gossiped about the goings on around town. Ryan and Noah were eager to return home, but Dave was sad to be leaving. After a few days in Japan and Hawaii, they were set to return home to start school and return to work. LB is here one more week and leaves the following Friday. We said our goodbyes and I wished them bon voyage. I'm sure I'll see them again in the future, but for now I'm sad to see them leave Palau as they were a surrogate family to me.

The same plane that carried the Kregenows off of Palau brought in our new court counsel Erin and her husband Ben. LB, Christy, and I met them at the airport to greet and welcome them to Palau. They has spent a little time in Thailand before arriving and were somewhat adjusted to the time zone and not a walking zombie coming off the plane. We took them to their residence which is a house near LB's. It's a great house and they loved it immediately. Their boxes of stuff were waiting for them and it looked like they brought plenty to fill the place. They are both from Kentucky and met in law school at the University of Kentucky. They just got married in June and so there has been a lot of new changes in their life. Their initial reaction to Palau was very positive and it looks like they should enjoy themselves. By the time we had given them the tour and brief introduction it was quite early in the morning, so we left them to get some sleep.
